The RO-MAN2025 is committed to supporting students within our community and increasing the diversity of the field of HRI. All undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers are welcome to apply if they feel their background will add to the diversification of ROMAN conference.
*Applications will be reviewed on rolling basis until budget is fulfilled or until June 30th, 2025 (whichever comes first)
The winners will receive:
complimentary registration to the 2025 Annual Conference
travel award in the form of reimbursement or cash
How to apply:
You will be asked to complete a brief survey. In the application process you will provide:
Proof of Acceptance to Present: Applicant must upload proof that research has been accepted by the conference or convention to which the applicant is applying for travel funds. Proof MUST be provided and have the applicant's name. A print-to-pdf file of the acceptance-to-present notification email is acceptable and preferred.
Your CV
A one-page letter of self-nomination that includes the student’s research interests, how they contribute to diversity within ROMAN 2025 and the broader field of HRI (e.g., lived experiences), and how they would benefit from receiving the award.
Budget: Items may include airfare, bus, subway, mileage, accommodation, registration, etc. Also, be prepared to produce and briefly explain any other travel funding you have received or may yet receive. Travel budgets which exceed the maximum request amount are asked to submit the full budget of expected travel expenses and clearly designate the items for which any received funds from ROMAN conference would be used. This will allow the evaluators to review submissions more accurately.
