Call for Proposals of Workshop & Tutorials
Workshops and tutorials should focus on key areas of active research and provide a forum for participants to share new ideas and discuss recent results. We encourage proposals for topics that have substantial community interest, with a creative and innovative workshop/tutorial program that will attract a broad audience. Workshops and tutorials focusing on academia-industry partnership and technology transfer of robotics research are welcome. The primary criteria for selection are anticipated level of interest, impact, novelty or creativity, and opportunities for networking among participants.
Workshop and tutorial proposals should include the following information in a 2–3-page proposal.
Title
Format (indicate full of half day, workshop of tutorial)
Main organizer (One person only, complete address, phone, and email)
Co-organizers (complete address, and email)
Previous editions (if any)
Statement of objectives
Intended audience

Guidelines for Accessible PDF Submissions
RO-MAN is committed to making our PDF proceedings and review process more accessible, especially for screen reader users who often encounter challenges with the PDF format. We ask all authors to prioritize accessibility throughout the submission process.
If your paper addresses accessibility or assistive technology, please follow the SIGACCESS guidelines on writing about disability.
Essential Accessibility Steps
To ensure your document meets accessibility standards, follow these steps from the SIGCHI Guide to an Accessible Submission. Refer to the guide for detailed instructions on creating the final accessible PDF:
Content Markup:
Use appropriate Word template styles or LaTeX markup for headings and lists.
Visual Distinction:
Incorporate shapes and patterns in figures and legends to convey differences beyond color.
Ensure that text referring to figures also highlights non-color-based distinctions.
Figure Descriptions:
Provide text descriptions for every figure (consult the SIGACCESS Guide to Describing Figures).
Table Accessibility:
Construct tables as real, marked-up tables rather than images, and label header cells clearly.
Equation Formatting:
Create equations using appropriate markup instead of embedding them as images.
Metadata Inclusion:
Add comprehensive metadata to your document.
LaTeX-Specific Considerations
Be aware that creating fully accessible PDFs from LaTeX can be challenging. While we encourage you to make your best effort, we understand that full compliance may not be achievable. You can perform a basic check of your PDF’s accessibility using tools like Adobe Reader’s Read Out Loud or Apple’s built-in reading tool. However, these tools are not as thorough as dedicated screen readers.
